Day trips
Mostar in one day: a full plan from morning to evening
The Old Bridge, the stone bazaar, Počitelj, Blagaj and Kravica: how to split your day in and around Mostar without rushing.
Mostar is about 130 km from Sarajevo, on one of Bosnia's most beautiful roads, following the green Neretva between the mountains.
Morning: the Old Bridge and the bazaar
The Old Bridge was built by the Ottomans in the 16th century as a single arch. Destroyed in 1993, it was rebuilt with the same stone and method and reopened in 2004. Walk across, then go down to the riverbank for the best photo angle.

Midday: Blagaj
Twelve kilometres from Mostar. The old tekke at the spring of the Buna is one of the most photographed sights in Bosnia. Have trout for lunch by the water.
Afternoon: Počitelj
An Ottoman-era stone village on a slope above the Neretva: a mosque, a tower and stone houses. Climb to the tower for the view.

Late afternoon: Kravica waterfalls
End the day here: wide falls about 25 metres high around a green lake.

Tip: for a calmer day, keep to Mostar and Blagaj.
