Bosnia visa for Gulf citizens in 2026: who enters visa-free?

Bosnia’s entry rules have changed more than once in the last two years, and many sites still show the old information. This is a summary of what is published as of October 2026 — always confirm before you book.

UAE citizens

Under a memorandum of understanding signed in late 2023, holders of ordinary Emirati passports enter without a visa for tourism and short visits throughout the year.

Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Oman

For 2026 it has been announced that holders of ordinary passports are exempt from 1 June to 30 September, for a stay of no more than 30 days. Outside that period, check with the embassy.

Kuwait and Qatar

According to published reports, the visa requirement returned for Kuwaiti citizens on 1 October 2025 as Bosnia aligns its policy with the European Union. For Qatari citizens we found no clear announcement for this year, so ask the embassy directly.

Gulf residents of other nationalities

The exemption follows the passport, not the residence permit. As a general rule, holders of a valid multiple-entry Schengen visa or an EU residence permit are allowed a short stay — but check the conditions for your nationality.

Before you book

Make sure your passport is valid for at least three months after your departure date and keep your accommodation and return bookings. The official reference is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina (mvp.gov.ba) and the nearest Bosnian embassy.
