Sarajevo is a long city stretched along a valley between mountains, and each municipality feels completely different. Before asking about price, decide: a summer home, a flat to let, or land to build on?

Stari Grad (the old town)

Baščaršija, Ottoman lanes and houses on the hillsides. It is closest to the visitors, so demand for short lets is high. Note the narrow, steep streets, scarce parking, and older houses that may need renovation.

Centar

Ferhadija street, Austro-Hungarian buildings and government offices. Flats in older blocks with high ceilings, walkable to everything — for those who want a flat in the heart of the city, to use or to let.

Novo Sarajevo and Novi Grad

The modern residential districts along the tram line: apartment blocks, shopping centres, schools. Prices are usually calmer than in the centre, and most new developments are here.

Ilidža — the green district west of Sarajevo near the spring of the Bosna

Ilidža

West of the city near the airport and Vrelo Bosne. Green and flat, with houses with gardens and villas, it is one of the areas most often chosen by Arab visitors for summer stays.

Hadžići, Vogošća and Ilijaš

Municipalities on the edge of Sarajevo: larger plots, detached houses and more quiet. Good for a house with a garden or land to build on, if you accept a drive to the centre.

Trnovo and Bjelašnica

The mountain and ski area. Chalets and aparthotels used in winter for snow and in summer for cool air. Ask about winter road clearing and heating costs.

How to choose

Visit the area at two different times (day and night, and if possible summer and winter), and measure the distance to the airport, shops and mosque. Our team can arrange viewings in several districts in one day.
