When you plan to buy a house in Bosnia and Herzegovina, confirm the basics that protect your right to the property:

  • A ZK land-registry entry exists.
  • A cadastre entry exists.
  • The building has a permit, or it appears on the plot plan and is recorded there.
  • The person or company you are buying from has no outstanding tax liabilities.
  • For land: it has a building permit or an old house on it, or the land can be built on.

Register the property to your company

We advise setting up the company first so you can register the property to it straight away. Moving the property into your own company is the sound way to secure your right.
